Our Story

They say find something that you are passionate about and then it won't seem like work. This is certainly true for us here at Bull Run 4x4.

Bull Run 4x4 started out as an obsession and hobby for Mike Miller. He's been involved in off-roading since he was a kid with both dirt bikes and ATVs. He's been building Jeeps and 4WD vehicles, performing maintenance on many brands of vehicles, assisting with various custom automotive builds and also owning/building many Jeeps of his own for nearly 20 years.

Bull Run 4x4 started out in Mike's home garage in Haymarket where he installed a 2-post automotive lift and started building Jeeps on the weekends as a hobby. As word got out that there was new shop in town that put customers first over profit, the Jeeps were lined up on the curb waiting for custom work week after week.

Mike realized that there was no shortage of stock Jeeps in his small town that needed lift kits and bigger tires. He also quickly realized that many customers enjoyed the benefit of a proper consultation centered around their intended use case for their Jeeps; whether it be daily driving, rock crawling, overland camping, beach use, mud or simply for looks.

Prior to starting Bull Run 4x4, Mike started, managed/owned and then sold an award-winning managed IT services/cloud hosting company that specialized in white-glove IT support for Federal government contractors and hospital networks. His company received rave reviews about the level of support clients received day after day. This same model and methodology is what drives Mike to offer the same quality of support to his Jeep customers today.

He's no stranger to business and certainly no stranger to going the extra mile to make sure all of his customers are happy. It might seem strange that Mike transitioned from a white collar career to blue collar business but Mike feels that he is certainly staying true to his roots by spending time in the garage with his kids now as he often did as a child with his grandfather while growing up in the 70's and 80's.

As of February 2020, Bull Run 4x4 expanded into a new, much larger facility located at 3511 James Madison Hwy in Haymarket, Virginia. The new facility allowed Bull Run 4x4 to expand its core capabilities while continuing to service and build custom Jeeps for customers in Haymarket, Manassas, Warrenton, Gainesville, Chantilly, Leesburg, Aldie, Centreville, Fairfax and beyond. Bull Run 4x4 regularly has customers coming as far a Harrisonburg, Charlottesville and more to obtain the very best service in the industry by some of the very best technicians who call Bull Run 4x4 home.

More recently Bull Run 4x4 has started community involvement such as sponsoring the 2017 Krawlin for C.O.P.S. event to benefit fallen Police Officers and their families at Rausch Creek Offroad Park as well as participating in other charity events that benefit police, fire, veterans and more!

On any given weekend you can find Mike and his off-road buddies blazing trails at local off-road parks on the east coast putting the very products we sell to our customers to the ultimate test.

He also enjoys coaching baseball, teaching his twins about his passion for Jeeps and enjoys spending time on the trails with family and friends in his 2012 Jeep JKU Rubicon.
